Let me start by saying, you’re not a lazy girl. You’re a mother of small children, a mother of older children, a working mother, and a normal human being. You’re a busy girl.
And sometimes us busy girls don’t quite get around to doing the things that we have great intentions of doing. Like removing your makeup every night. And following that up with proper cleansing, toning and moisturising before you get to bed at a reasonable hour every night.
Despite my best intentions, there are nights where I just barely manage to take my makeup off and clean my teeth before tumbling into bed. And if you’re a human being, I suspect that there are times that this is the case for you, too.
Luckily for us lazy/busy girls, there is a solution. Facial wipes! Makeup gets wiped off in an instant, even the tricky eye makeup. But wait! Before you grab a pack of any old facial wipes from the supermarket, think about this. Unless you wash your face carefully after using facial wipes (and let’s face it, if we were that good we wouldn’t need the wipes, right?), anything in the facial wipes is going to stay on your skin. All night.
So just like any other skincare product, you need to make sure that you’re getting the good stuff. No perfumes, no nasties, and nothing that’s going to irritate, inflame or dry out your skin.
I’m happy to say that there are a few great brands doing organic and natural face wipes. Even better, they’re about the same price as the mainstream brands.

Pack of 25 wipes, $8.95
Organic cotton in the actual wipes, and quite a lot of organic ingredients. There’s nothing scary in these, and the rose, aloe and chamomile are good ingredients for sensitive skins. I haven’t tried these yet, so can’t comment on how effective they are, but I’ll keep you updated.
Ingredients: 99.9% purified water, 0.1% citrus grandis extract and dead sea minerals
Pack of 24, $7.95
The best ingredients of any facial wipe I’ve ever seen, and the texture on the wipe makes them really easy to use. They seem to get all the makeup off without any sensitivity or irritation. They don’t seem to leave a film on your skin, either. I don’t use them all the time, but have never had any problem with them when I do. They’re perfect after a late night, or even to throw into your holiday makeup bag if you’re going away.
Yes, you can use the baby Waterwipes, as the ingredients are excellent on these, too, but they don’t remove makeup the way the cosmetic ones do!

Nothing nasty in this one, either. These take your makeup off without irritation, and they seem to leave your skin soft and a bit moisturised. That’s thanks to the oils in these ones – avocado, apricot, rosehip. It does make a difference if you’ve got dry skin like I do.

Again, nothing nasty in these. I haven’t tried these, but a friend of mine who tried them seems to like them as much as I liked the ones for dry skin.

No nasties, and a nice line up of oils designed to work with oily skin. These are especially great for teens, to help them get into a good skincare routine early on and encourage makeup removal every night!
All in all, the Wotnots have a great range of facial wipes that work for all skin types. Gotta be happy with that!
